Dear participant,
There are currently neither travel restrictions nor mandatory wearing of face mask with regard to Covid-19 in most of Europe and Germany. We advice you to have at least 2 vaccinations and a booster for your own safety since currently Omicron strains are still present; albeit at a very low incidence.
We hope to welcome you in person in 2023in Jena!

Dear participant,
Unfortunately we have encountered problems with financing the event so that participation remains free and setting up the virtual platform. These have now been resolved, but as a consequence, very little time is left to promote the event and instruct the speakers.
We have therefore had no other choice than to delay the event.

The past few months have been filled with bad and good news. Bad, because the pandemic is continuing to rage across the world. Even though several vaccines are now available, we do not expect that a sufficiently high percentage of the World's population will be vaccinated to interrupt transmission. Moreover, even in those countries with an extensive vaccination program, infection rates continue to rise.
With the current standing, we feel that i 2021, a physical ICON cannot be safely realized by September of 2021.
We have therefore opted rather than to postpone the event again to hold this year's conference entirely online.

The past few weeks have been filled with bad and good news. Bad, because the pandemic is continuing to rage across the world, especially in the USA, India, Latin America and Europe; Our hearts go out to those who currently suffer from Covid-19 or have lost someone to the virus.
Good, because a total of 3 vaccine initiatives have recently presented working vaccines, which might lead us out of the pandemic.
With the current standing, and the potential that vaccination starts early January, we feel confident that a physical ICON can be safely realized by September of 2021.
Should this not be the case, ICON will be held as a virtual conference in 2021, but preparations for a physical conference are underway.

COVID-19 is currently increasingly spreading and affecting virtually all countries, including Germany. The current situation prevents us from safely organizing a scientific gathering with hundreds of delegates. We at ICON take the health of our collaborators, speakers, delegates, and exhibitors and sponsors seriously.
With the current standing, we have decided to postpone the events to 2021.
Hopefully in a year's time the situation will be clearer and either an antiviral medicine and/or a vaccine may be available, which would allow us to return to normalcy.
Therefore, we have secured an alternative date and established contingency planning solely as a precautionary measure.

Be aware that the registration timeline will NOT be as usual, since vaccination efforts will determine the timeline.
